What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist II position at AECOM?
AECOM is actively seeking a entry to mid-level environmental scientist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) within the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
The candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including the oversight of subcontractors.

Project and task management, client interaction, cost estimating, remedial systems design, overseeing implementation/construction of remedial actions, technical report writing, and mentoring.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel.
Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Anticipated division of job-related tasks is about a 70/30 percent split between office and field work.

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology & 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
Valid driver’s license.
US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations
Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
Must successfully pass preemployment background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related discipline.
3 years of experience within the consulting industry.
Experienced with environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.
Knowledge and experience working with Guam EPA and with local Guam environmental regulations
Experience military munitions response and environmental projects
Possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination
Effective oral and written communication skills
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
Experience using ArcGIS and generating maps and report figures.
Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.
Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
