AECOM is seeking a mid-level Geophysicist in Honolulu, HI to be a task leader for a variety of military munitions response and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a degree in geophysics, geology or closely related field or equivalent demonstrated proficiency with geophysical methods with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.The middle-level Geophysicist will have applied experienced in the use of geophysical techniques to enhance engineering, environmental, and military munitions investigation and response project tasks. The applicant will be versed in current technology in the field of applied geophysics for military munitions response project (MMRP) actions and be proficient in and able to recommend a variety of geophysical techniques.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:Assisting with pricing estimates, technical approach scoping, scheduling, and field project execution.Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.Qualified candidates will be available for travel as needed. Anticipated division of job-related tasks is about a 70/30 percent split between office and field work.
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS degree in geology, geophysics, or closely related field and 6+ years of experience or AA/AS (US) + 8 Years of experience or diploma certificate (Canada) + 8 years of experience or HS/GED + 10 Years of experience
Valid driver's licenseUS Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
Ability to successfully obtain DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations
Competent with Geosoft software package and digital geophysical mapping (DGM) specifically related to the MMRPMust successfully pass preemployment background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Geology or geophysics or related discipline
Experience with Advanced Geophysical Sensors
Professional licensure (e.g., PG, PGp) Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports
Experience providing supervision of field activities, and overseeing project quality and safety
Experience in the selection and utilization of various types of geophysical instruments and ancillary components to include high-precision global positioning systems, inertial motion sensors and the software used to control and integrate the geophysical system as a whole
Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.Sponsorship is not offered for this position.
Relocation is offered for this position.Preferred candidate may possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination
