Job Description
AECOM is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to be based in Cleveland, OH. This position is expected to begin in June 2024.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Assist with the mechanical design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as plumbing and fire protection for commercial and institutional facilities
Assist with field work and/or facility condition assessments
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Qualifications
Minimum Qualificitations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
High level of comfort working both from the office and in the field with varying schedules. Previous work within multidisciplinary teams to include architects, engineers, specialty contractors, etc.
Sustainability, energy efficiency, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience a plus, but not a requirement
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as Trane Trace, Revit and AutoCAD)
Knowledge and interest in the architectural/engineering field designing HVAC and plumbing systems
Training and/or familiarity with facility assessments and/or inspections
Ability to travel to inspection sites to conduct field work
Ability to prioritize tasks on a daily basis
The ability to work closely with a small group of professionals in various disciplines with successful outcomes
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually
