AECOM has an opening for a Project Manager – Energy Services to support multiple initiatives related to energy efficiency, decarbonization, transportation electrification and renewables. The successful candidate will have in-depth understanding of lighting, heating and cooling systems and operations for variety of different types of end-uses including but not limited to hi-tech, biotech, commercial, healthcare and the manufacturing sectors. Strong leadership and demonstrated communication skills are necessary to be successful in this role. Strong knowledge of California regulatory environment related to decarbonization, and renewables is a plus.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Interface regularly with the clients to identify project needs, communicate engineering solutions, and strengthen client relationships.
- Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects
- Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the execution of projects
- Supporting changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk
- Reporting and escalating to management as needed
- Maintaining project documentation control
- Develop cost estimates to determine ROI
- Write technical reports to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders
- Review or originate solar engineering design packages
- Review or originate energy production modeling
- Developing and maintaining good client relationships across the portfolio
- Lead and support development of technical proposals.
- Training others to learn project management skills
- Help recruit and build a team of professionals to support the growth strategy
DCS—Energy
AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 6 years of relevant experience in energy services or related industry with:
- Decarbonization technologies for different end-uses including but not limited to commercial offices, hi-tech and biotech sector and industrial end-uses
- Energy audits and development of detailed feasibility reports for quantifying energy savings for different end-uses
- PE license in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of renewable technologies
- Proven experience managing projects in multiple locations
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills
- Experience leading a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to: project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, procurement professionals, environmental professionals, consultants, owners engineering, safety professionals, risk management etc.
- Experience and recognition as a technical expert in their field
- Proven ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members
- An ability to apply acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members
- A track record of leveraging relationships to expand work with existing clients, identify new clients and recruit and retain in-house staff
- Expert usage of Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel
- Occasional travel within the United States will be required
