Job Description
AECOM Hunt has an immediate hiring need for a highly talented Safety, Health & Environment Specialist to join our Hunt Construction group. This position will be supporting our San Clemente, California nuclear site location.
Job Summary:
Develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. Provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives. Assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.'
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements.
• Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
• Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
• Develops, implements and maintains safety and health programs, systems and procedures. Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area.
• Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
• Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
• Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
• Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel.
• May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirement:
BA/BS 4 years of relevant nuclear construction safety experience or AA/AS 6 years of relevant experience or HS/GED 8 years of relevant experience
Badging requires ID/Background check and training/testing prior to access to the facility as it is a controlled site.
Experience in Nuclear/Radiation background/security sensitive awareness.
Extensive knowledge and relations with Nuclear plant/security and staff.
Preferred Qualification:
Safety related education/degree.
10 years of Nuclear facility safety experience
Recognized Safety Professional Certification (Examples) BCSP (CSP, CHST, ASP)
Completion of First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training.
CHST and OSHA 500.
Experience in the implementation of OSHA employee safety guidelines.
Experience in construction risk management and quality assurance.
Experience with local building codes and regulations.
CCCIP or OCIP experience.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Bonus opportunities are tied to both company and individual performance and vary from year-to-year. The salary range for this position is $80,756.40 - $149,399.34.
