Job Description

AECOM seeks a Security Designer to join the firm's Technology Solution Group.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of integrated security systems and will also possess exceptional business and people skills. This position will work independently and regularly meet with a variety of clients to discuss the project design strategy.  The candidate will use their knowledge to develop and present quality, innovative electrical security design solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Will produce project-specific electronic security systems plans and specifications in accordance with client requirements and security industry standards and guidelines
• Providing constant attention to rapidly changing industry trends and security technology
• Working with senior electronic security system designers to develop physical security system designs for the protection of assets in various industry sectors, including government, transportation, defense, education, and commercial business sectors
• Working alongside architects, engineers, and interior designers daily, providing unique opportunities for collaboration and personal development
• Assisting with the development of integrated security solutions for a wide cross-section of clients utilizing security solutions such as surveillance systems, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, voice communication systems as well as integrated collaborative systems used in the security and control operation center environment.
• Developing performance specifications of the design solutions that are constructible to meet the operational requirements of the project.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with the design of electrical circuits, electronic security systems and networks, equipment, infrastructure, and cabling
• Experience with technology and application of physical Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, and Intercom systems
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit drafting
