Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Security Manager to support our Global Security & Resilience Team. This position is flexible for remote work schedules and can be based from anywhere in the US.
The role of the security manager is to support the corporate vice president in maintaining the security of the business, employees both office and project based and assets throughout the region.
- Develop and support security initiatives relevant to global and business challenges.
- Promote a positive security culture throughout the Americas.
The security manager will provide security guidance for projects, ensuring best practice is adopted in line with current threat and risk assessment processes.
Specific Tasks:
- Exhibit sound judgement in decision making skills in advising the global security team members of key challenges associated to the business operating model.
- Develop relationships with business lines to ensure adoption of and maintenance of security guidance.
- Provide global guidance in relation to business real estate both permanent and temporary.
- Provide security guidance at all project levels throughout the region.
- Assist in the development of the global resilience process. This will incorporate incident response and crisis management supporting to the corporate vice president.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the business, promoting the core values adopting and promoting the corporate culture.
- Monitor intelligence sources (e.g., Crisis 24, IHS, reputable news media) for current relevant events within Americas regions/countries.
- Maintain and update industry specific knowledge through external resources.
- Maintain relationships with security professionals and external agencies, enabling knowledge of, trans-national crime, terrorism trends and global developments.
- Support review of best practices, policies, procedures, and criteria for physical security and resilience programs consistent with AECOM’s global requirements and policies.
- Support applicable travel management programs, including travel approval e.g., high risk countries.
Management/Advisory
- Support local and regional security assessments in support of business operations.
- Promote security and resilience awareness across Americas regions and embed within key risk committees and decision-making processes.
- Actively participate in professional associations and relevant peer groups.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS plus at least 6 years of relevant security experience or demonstrated equivalent of experience and/or education
- A proven track record in law enforcement/military with knowledge of global security operations with specific emphasis towards corporate security or with international security organizations and consultants.
- Experience in creating threat assessment/risk analysis with detailed management strategies.
- Experience in writing and reviewing project security management plans.
- Communication and training skills and experience are critical
- Proven background and experience in emergency planning, business continuity and crisis management at project level.
- Aptitude to successfully navigate business strategy in relation to security environments and needs, with an understanding of the operational environment.
- Highly developed and disciplined work ethic, sense of accountability and ability to follow-through
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to diplomatically manage situations through to conclusion.
- Functionality in Microsoft Office products e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Travel- flexibility to travel up to 25-50% of the time (including maintaining passport for international travel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate (writing and speaking) in Spanish is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of security systems, including access control; ability to analyze, evaluate and recommend new systems, policies, and procedures.
- Possesses a certification in a security related field such as a CPP (Certified Protection Professional – ASIS), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner – ACFE) or similar.
