The Position
- The Protein Sciences Organization is seeking a highly motivated, productive, and talented research associate to advance efforts on mRNA-based therapeutics and nucleic acid construct generation, in a contract role.
- The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional research groups to develop and optimize new technologies.
- They will be expected to work independently to generate and communicate results that drive project decisions.
- Performing DNA construct design, in vitro transcription (IVT), manual or automated nucleic acid purification, followed by analytical characterization and quality control of mRNA
- Independently designing experiments and optimizing cloning and construct generation protocols, scheduling requests and carrying out troubleshooting when necessary.
- Working with informatics systems to manage requests, independently collecting, analyzing, uploading experimental data, and sharing results with team members via email and/or presentations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with significant wet-lab experience
- Knowledge and/or experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein engineering, biotechnology, bioengineering, or a related discipline
- Previous experience with PCR, DNA construct design, and cloning preferred
- Proficiency with molecular biology/data analysis software (SnapGene, Geneious Prime, DNASTAR, Lasergene, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, collaborative, self-directed individual who can complete projects in a timely manner
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and organized with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
