Description:
Purpose: Assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts at bench to make relatively large or heavy subassemblies or
complete units using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous light power tools and equipment. Fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
Essential Functions:
- Assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts using various hand tools in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Test parts per the assembly testing procedures to include pressure and electrical continuity testing using gages, meters and test stands.
- Perform visual inspections of parts.
- Rework assembled parts from material returns and repair station orders.
- Orient, train, and check the work of lower level employees.
- Complete assembly testing procedure data sheets and customer final testing results.
- Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
- Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
- Ability to read blue prints and routers is required.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, thermometers, test stands and various hand tools required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or in a complex assembly position preferred.
- Perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast paced work environment.
- Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance.
