What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Aerotek?
Description:
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of structural steel components for the manufacturing of PEM trailers and/or heater products. This is an entry-level to more advanced position, with all work being completed with varying levels of supervision.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and in compliance with the established JSA.
- Ability to saw, drill, machine, shear and/or brake varying levels of structural steel with minimal supervision.
- Ability to fabricate moderately complex items (skewed shear plates, blue print layout and assembly attachment) with supervision.
- Interpret and apply shop drawing information, including weld symbol designations, with limited assistance.
- Practice and promote Safety and Housekeeping.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
Other responsibilities:
- Load and unload fabrication equipment to make cuts and bends accordingly
- Will float between press brake, shear, plasma, and waterjet (willing to train if they have experience with at least 2 of these)
- Setup equipment between production runs
- Must be able to read a tape measure and identify the different types and thicknesses of sheetmetal
- Use overhead cranes when needed to move equipment

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
6 months of experience operating at least 2 of the following (press brake, shear, saw, plasma, waterjet)
Willing to learn other equipment
Able to read and setup off of a blueprint is preferred
