Description:
It is the function of the Industrial Mechanical & Electrical Technician to safely and efficiently troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment in compliance with all plant codes, policies and procedures. This job requires the ability to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. The candidate will respond to all maintenance issues, both mechanical and electrical throughout the plant and perform other duties, as required.
- A typical day would be starting out in the morning with their safety meeting, then they get their work orders that will tell them whether they are going to a down department for PM's or to a department that needs corrective repairs.
- The candidates will be evaluated on rework percentage from the machines that they work on. As a team, the maintenance department is measured based on the downtime for the different parts of facility and the plant as a whole.
- First Day: They need to come in with complete knowledge on the technical side, as they will not be receiving training on this

Rotating 12 hour Shift: M-F 7AM-7PM
Weekend and OT work dictated by production and machine/part wear and tear. (doesn't happen often)
SHIFT ROTATIONS: 3 ON, 2 OFF, 2 ON, 3 OFF
Pay 30.00 per hour
Also, candidates will work and train over a variety of shifts and locations of the mill (LY: Log Yard, DV: Dry Veneer, SL: Spray Line, FD: Finishing Department)
- Must have good understanding of tool holder, insert types, turning and boring set ups and be able to train others
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in basic hydraulics, pneumatics, reading hydraulic schematics, fabrication, cutting with torch, welding, reading blue prints, precision measurements and geometric tolerances, inspection gages, and layout procedures
- Must be able to troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and up time
- Knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets and precision alignment of motors and couplings
- Must be able to operate hoisting and lifting devices, set-up, and repair of machinery
MUST HAVES: This would make a candidate a perfect fit!
- Hydraulic/Pneumatic troubleshooting and Stick Welding and repair experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyors, sprockets, chains, gear boxes, and drives.
- STICK Welding / Fabrication experience.
WISH LIST:
- Previous experience with vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography.
- Experience with laser alignment
- Experience with Electrical troubleshooting and repairs, such as Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, and PLC's.
- Fastener Training (knowledge of clamp force or elasticity).
- Machining experience (1/1000 tolerances).
- Root cause analysis training.
