Description:
OBJECTIVE: Maintains product quality standards by performing incoming, in-process, and finished goods inspection of electronic assemblies according to documentation and industry quality standards. JOB DESCRIPTION: •Performs any combination of following tasks to inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies,components, and parts for conformance to specifications, following blueprints, drawings, and production andassembly manuals: Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, andcomponents to detect assembly errors. •Perform incoming inspection on all materials to assure that all Engineering Specifications, MTISpecifications, physical attributes and conditions of the material conforms to requirements, using precisionmeasuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. •Verify all components for placement, polarity, lead prep, part marking, damage etc. •Compares assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware. •Inspects solder connections on PCB circuit boards for conformance to applicable specifications. •Examines joints and pulls wires and cables to locate soldering defects. •Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specifiedconnections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards. •Examines production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performedaccording to specifications. •Records inspection data, such as serial number, type and percent of defects, and rework required. REQUIREMENTS: •High School Diploma •IPC/J-STD certification •IPC/J-STD trainer certification a plus •Strong background in interpreting component and assembly drawings and performinginspections accordingly. •Demonstrable ability to work in MS Word/Excel to create and record inspectionlogs/reports and other quality documents. •Experience and knowledge of statistical inspection process and requirements. •Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls.
