The Manager, Business Operations will be a key part of the Development Operations team, which supports the growth and maintenance of a world class renewable energy Development organization. The Manager will gain unparalleled perspective on how a renewable energy company operates. This includes a high degree of exposure to senior decision-makers. The role is situated in a rapidly growing team, company, and industry, providing high potential for advancement. Professional growth and feedback are priorities for the team, which will supercharge the Manager’s development. The Development Operations team sits within AES Clean Energy’s Development organization with the goal of enabling project developers and Development leadership. This includes budget management, pipeline management, operations improvements, and team coordination activities. This role also works with teams outside of Development, including Engineering, Finance, and Commercial, among others. Primary Responsibilities Operations improvements Design process improvement plans with technical and change management expertise Lead project management for multi-functional process improvement teams Support ongoing improvement initiatives with analysis and presentation creation Team Coordination Support planning of team meetings, including in-person events Create and maintain Development-specific onboarding and training Budget Management Provide analytical, presentation, and coordination support to annual planning and monthly management process Pipeline management Provide analytical, presentation, and coordination support for pipeline reporting, analytics, and data stewardship Position Requirements Approach to Work Lives AES values: safety, highest standards, and an “all together” approach Growth mindset: curiosity, desire to learn, self-driven, desire to improve skills Team-oriented utility player: owns outcomes, supports where needed, on short notice, and occasionally outside of normal business hours Motivation to work in renewables/infrastructure Skills Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to take an ambiguous problem and structure a solution Organized, detail-oriented, ensuring quality deliverables with on-time delivery Interpersonal communications acumen, including ability to handle sensitive topics Strong written and verbal communication, including preparation of presentations for senior decision-makers Qualifications 3-5 years of validated experience; consulting and/or renewables development experience preferred Undergraduate degree Excellent quantitative skills: data management, analysis design, efficient development and execution of models, and quality control Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel; additional data analysis software experience a plus Ability to work in an AES office part of the week preferred Willingness to travel; anticipated travel is 5-20% of time AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion. The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $110.000 and $144.500/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
