The Strategic Program Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies for internal strategic programs designed to transform AES. This role will focus on change management and internal communications. The Communications Lead will collaborate closely with program leads, stakeholders, and executives to ensure effective communication and alignment with program objectives. The qualified candidate should be an innovative and strategic problem-solver, should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment, and be comfortable managing and working under tight deadlines. S/he has a track record as a problem solver and big picture thinker, with the ability to work collaboratively, while exercising excellent judgment. The Communications Lead will drive education, awareness, and engagement of program outcomes globally across AES to instill pride in our work and strengthen a sense of working all together toward our shared vision of accelerating the future of energy. Communications Strategy: Develop a comprehensive and integrated communications strategy and rollout plan to educate, raise awareness, and engage AES people. Stakeholder Engagement: Work with program leads to understand program goals, milestones, and priorities. Gather insights, align program-level messaging to broader AES strategy, and ensure timely and effective communications. Program Communication: Drive program awareness for the teams working on the program as a core member of the program PMO. Establish best practices for formally communicating program kick-off and close-out phases of programs. Internal Communication: Partner with HR Business Partners and other Program leads to identify and coordinate the most effective internal channels to drive communications. Serve as a content contributor for the Global Newsletter, Leadership Calls, and All Hands Meetings with prepared materials, including presentations, video messages, and others, as needed. Content & Template Development: Responsible for producing compelling and engaging internal content, including written materials, videos, infographics, and other multimedia assets to convey program messages effectively. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication materials. Prepare a template library for program communications and updates. Digital Communications & Collaboration Technologies: Partner with Digital and Internal Comms to assess and apply digital tools and technologies to deliver content in new ways with a "people first" user experience in mind. Change Management: Partner with Change Management to provide communication support for change management initiatives related to strategic programs. Help AES people and internal stakeholders understand the program benefits, impacts, and progress, addressing concerns and managing expectations. Measurement: Establish key metrics for success to evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities; monitor and adjust tactics accordingly. Share responsibility for overall program KPIs for success. Expectation Management: Manage or stay ahead of potential risks or challenges related to areas of program delay, changes in scope, or user acceptance feedback post-rollout External Communication: When appropriate, partner with external comms team to inform and develop key messages to our external stakeholders, including the Board, Investor Community, Customers, etc. Experience: Exceptional writing, influencing and presentation skills; communicates effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels Collaborator with strong project management skills; build productive relationships across all levels and functions; rally support for key initiatives Driven and creative leader who consistently demonstrates sound judgment to influence key decisions to earn seat at the management table Ability to quickly learn new publishing tools (SharePoint, Constant Contact, etc.) Multi-tasker, high energy, ability to work in a matrixed environment Experience with change management, in organizational communications, internal communications, transformation communications, or related field Qualifications: BA or BS with 5-7 years of relevant experience Business acumen with ability to understand complex issues. The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $121,000 and $152,150/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
