About the Role
The IMS Manager will lead a support team of IMS Supervisors responsible for the US Florence, SC plant in the development, launch, and upkeep of the Integrated Management System while also ensuring shop floor compliance to global standards and rules. This role will be heavily focused on training as well as hands-on shop floor support. This position will also support the launch of new plant(s) in the region as needed.
What You Will Do
- Participates in the development, launch, and upkeep of the production management system based on lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborates with the Global IMS team and supports Global efforts.
- Revises and maintains regional documents based on global feedback and customer needs at established frequency.
- Facilitates onboarding of new persons to the US region.
- Prepares recurring reports and makes necessary internal communications.
- Ensures success of new launches through shop floor support and training.
- Correlates shop floor activities to organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Maintains SharePoint (or similar) standards database for the production system.
- Supports compliance to industry standards and internal QMS procedures.
- Works with plant leadership to develop, review, and track business objectives.
- Provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and staff development.
- Performs Internal audits to ensure compliance to standards / rules.
- Participates in the facilitation of key IMS activities such as TQM.
- Support daily operations as needed to ensure the success of Operations Department.
- Monitor and Improve Technical Training Center curriculum as needed.
- Access the performance of candidates in the Technical Training Center program and determine if candidates are a good fit for AESC at the main plant.
- Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers, and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; monitors time and attendance of subordinates and approves timesheets.
- Supports organizational and team annual goals that relate to corporate KPIs and tracking these goals for each phase of a project; participates heavily in the development, launch, and upkeep of the AESC Production Management System.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
What You Need
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of related experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing.
- Two (2) or more years Supervisory experience, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and training and contributing to staff development. Supervised subordinates or contractors with differentiated roles. Subordinate positions carried several different titles. Functions, though similar in objective, were distinct.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; report writing skills, presentation abilities, and motivational skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with all staff levels and disciplines is a must. Able to work cross-functionally with staff in Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, etc.
- Formal problem-solving experience on complex issues.
- Outstanding planning, scheduling, and organizational and demonstrated leadership skills.
What is "Nice to Have"?
- In-depth understanding of lithium battery manufacturing, product knowledge, battery manufacturing processes and equipment, and related information systems. Preferred experience in NPW, APW, TPS, or similar lean manufacturing production system training and execution.
- Proficiency in Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Skills in managing organizational change, especially when introducing new technologies or processes.
- Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous, as it aligns with our global operations and enhances communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
