POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector/Auditor is a critical role where you will assist QA manager with ensuring the integrity of the certified quality system requirements while advocating as the 'voice of the customer' demanding the highest quality expectations. You will work closely across the group supporting operations, aftermarket, design, engineering, product management and supply chain. The responsibilities as Quality Inspector/Auditor are to provide support for the Inspection team, perform Repair audits & internal audits as per QMS and enhance the quality of product/service provision within the facility. Critical to this role will be supporting QA Manager to document analysis of quality problems, root causes and implemented corrective actions that describe best practice using Quality tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigation of internal and external product incidents, finding the root cause by working with colleagues across all functions to implement solutions. This will include learning about the manufacturing and assembly processes, as well as all functions of the Business in order to appreciate potential causes of error.
- Carrying out audits against internal procedures and external standards
- Coordination and analysis of QA/QC measures. Including collating, analyzing and reporting information on MoPs (Measures of Performance) for the Business.
- Ensure all company policies surrounding quality requirements and business assurance are met
- Promotion and adaptation of the continuous improvement approach.
- Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and provide information and where relevant, training, relating to the QMS and its functions
- Maintain 3rd party certification, and, where relevant, develop processes and procedures required to achieve 3rd party certification
- Host 3rd party audits
- Perform inspection activity or manufacturing as well as BOF (bought out finish) goods
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, as determined by business needs.

Education/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical seals OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer experience to include a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Inspection process, handling inspection equipment & CMM
- Experience with CMM programming is added advantage.
- Experience with audit processes, manufacturing audits and quality audits.
- Experience with continuous improvement techniques.
- Must have ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must have ability to successfully read engineering drawings.
- Must be able to use all inspection equipment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position works in an open office environment where teamwork is emphasized. As such, regular attendance in the office is an essential function of the role.
