AEVEX is offering an exciting opportunity for a division controller at a rapidly growing segment of our business in the Tampa area. This is the first accounting or finance leadership hire for this division and an opportunity to build out the best accounting and finance processes and procedures from the ground floor.

In coordination with AEVEX's leadership team, this candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting and finance activities at the segment. The ideal candidate will also be responsible, in conjunction with the AEVEX corporate finance leadership, for conducting an analysis of existing accounting and finance processes and business systems to facilitate the design and stand up of a GovCon compliant accounting system to support our growing customer base.
This candidate must be an energetic, motivated self-starter with proven leadership skills. Candidate must have knowledge of GovCon compliant accounting practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support monthly financial statement reviews with the division leadership, the CFO, VP F&A and Corporate Controller.
- Partner with the Corporate Controller and Corporate Director of FP&A to maintain schedule with the monthly closing cycles and ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Monitor division cash flow and related cash requirements / forecasts
- Division lead for financial and project accounting software implementation, enhancements, and upgrades.
- Implement financial process and procedures to comply with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Work closely with corporate Finance and Accounting departments to ensure all necessary systems are working as intended
- As a member of the divisional leadership team, work with division leadership in developing and reporting of strategic plans, goals, budgets, business planning, monthly/quarterly audits, and related financial information and monitor performance against these standards
- Train/Build/Develop the financial/business acumen of the Operations team
- Act as an experienced leader able to dive into various projects, including process improvements, business system enhancements, M&A integration, cash flow optimization within the finance & accounting department
- Troubleshoot and resolve program revenue, billing, and cost issues with the program finance & billing team, as needed
- Ensure proper project accounting and segregation of costs including inventory control and valuation.
- In conjunction with the corporate compliance leaders, assist with maintaining a GovCon compliant finance and accounting culture at the division.
- Contribute to the strategy and pricing with respect to new business and proposals.
Essential Requirements:
- Build rapport and develop relationships with team members at all levels within AEVEX
- Ability to work with geographically diverse teams
- Strong understanding of direct project and other operational challenges and how the finance and accounting organization can support operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Generally, less than 10% travel required
- Due to the classified and sensitive nature of our work, US Citizenship is a requirement
Qualifications And Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or similar discipline.
- 6 years' management experience in the DoD/Federal contracting with attention to CAS and FAR.
- S. GAAP and knowledge of internal control framework
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment
- Unanet, Deltek or similar system experience.
