- PawTracks - The ultimate pet owner's guide to the best products and tips for keeping animals happy and healthy.
- NewFolks - Every parent’s destination for tips, tricks, products, and advice on parenting kids of all ages
ToughJobs - Where small business becomes smart business. (Experience with B2B content is preferred.)
- BlissMark - Your destination for education and information on beauty, culture, wellness, and healthy living.
- HappySprout - Your destination for indoor plants, outdoor living, and cultivating a stunning garden.
You should be team-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and a self-starter mentality. Must be able to work within our tech-centric platforms (Teams, Asana, WordPress), possess a willingness to continually learn, adapt to a changing environment as unique needs arise, and step in where help is needed. Prior experience with WordPress is crucial. Must be capable of managing multiple projects/tasks in a structured environment without missing deadlines.
Each month, you’ll edit evergreen articles along with some time-sensitive ‘news’ content and work with a team of writers to produce incredible content. We’re looking for someone who is a competent editor with a passion for improving content, educating readers, and enhancing article formatting on our sites. The ability to research and provide the best advice to writers is a must, as is the ability to vet existing content.
The ideal candidate is an experienced copy editor, has time each day to devote to this role, and the desire to dive right into helping craft publishable content with minimal training. The ability to help writers meet deadlines with airtight copy using excellent editorial judgment is crucial.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with editorial staff on content strategy
- Work with editorial staff to prioritize production queue
- Maintain a steady production flow for all content
- Manage content production goals while maintaining first-class quality standards
- Handle exceptions for content not matching criteria
- Possess a keen eye for understanding brand vision and content goals
- Delegate assignments to writers as needed
- Review content for completeness and quality
- Route and monitor tasks throughout content production pipeline (Asana)
- Editing articles according to production deadlines and quality standards
- Oversee quality of copy including language/tone/voice
- Handle exceptions and questions from freelance resources as it relates to content
- Other duties as assigned
You Have:
- 1-2 years of experience as a copy editor for online publications
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Time to work on editing tasks daily
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with WordPress
- Asana and Excel experience a plus
- Knowledge of AP style
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and provide feedback effectively
- Superior time management skills
