Job Description
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Provide design and consulting services to the Mechanical staff relating to the application of mechanical equipment and piping systems. Assists the Mechanical staff in conducting engineering studies and analyses. Assist the Mechanical staff during installation and start-up on assigned projects.
SCOPE:
- Assist as requested in analyzing and defining project scope, estimated cost, and technical aspects of a project in accordance with client and AFRY specifications.
- Assist in the development of engineering studies, including computer simulation of mass and energy balances and completing economic evaluations of alternatives.
- Perform field surveys in preparation for design.
- Assist in activities regarding overall plant design including equipment sizing and specifying, piping system design, stress analysis, and system check-out, start-up and training.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of construction drawings, purchase specifications, project schedules, operation manuals, and related details for projects.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents such as project installation specifications and bidding documents.
- Assist in the support of field installation, checkout and start-up of mechanical equipment and piping systems.
- Participate in client and project team meetings as required.
- Assist the Project Engineer in performing administrative tasks as required.
- Assist in developing standard specifications.
- Assist in preparation of proposals, and marketing materials.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must possess a college degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to converse with clients and technical groups.
- Working knowledge of computer software applications.
