PRODUCE Sales Assisant/Coordinator
Responsible for assisting the sales department with detailed sales efforts that collectively will provide service to our existing and new clients. The Administrative Sales Assistant will support the sales department with documentation to customers, developing new leads, as well as marketing and advertising ideas. Consequently, this will assist the company to reach sales budget goals and expand/diversify the customer base. Position responsibilities are not limited to the following list:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate new customer leads by researching internet/bluebook /redbook/PMA/Import database.
- Assist sale staff with follow-up calls to customers.
- Help sales staff enter orders in the system.
- Assist sales staff to handle retail online order systems (i.e. EDI, iTrade).
- Help sales staff research market prices and trends.
- Provide Sales Manager with reports that are relevant for the day-to-day analysis of the business.
- Assist sales staff with brokerage duties (i.e. gathering information from vendors, negotiating pricing and procurement).
- Answer the phone courteously.
- Support Executive management in day-to-day transactions and operational requirements for continued business growth.
- Assist sales department when needed with order status to customers.
- Arrange travel and customer visits as required.
- Support and collaborate in the company’s marketing efforts including social media content.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with all Company departments (Sales, Transportation, Warehouse, Procurement, Marketing, Accounting and Human Resources) to achieve daily cross-functional objectives.
- Office management – vendor and supplier relations, overall organization.
- Ensure that samples to new and/or existing customers are sent on the requested date.
- Complete vendor’s forms and request liability insurance certificate for the Finance Department.
- Enter claims in the system, assist sales staff gathering information and reports to ensure claims are finalized within 10 days of receipt.
- Assist logistics department when needed to send shipping confirmation to customers.
- Assist AR Department with any documentation needed from the customer with respect to claims to ensure resolution on a timely manner.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related experience
- Sales experience a plus.
- Experience in the produce industry a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Customer service. Courteous on the phone.
- Analytical and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
- Very effective organizational skills
