Position Overview
Davey Resource Group, Inc. is actively seeking a self-motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as Environmental Staff Scientist with a focus on applied soil science for various land uses including but not limited to private and commercial site development, site wastewater applications, and wetland and stream mitigation. The selected candidate will be working out of our Wilmington, North Carolina office.
Job Duties
Primary work duties of this position will include soil mapping, soils evaluations for stormwater and wastewater site applications, soils evaluations for wetland and stream mitigation, and technical report writing.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
• Respondents shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science or a related soil science focused field.
• Additional coursework in wetland science, or ecology is strongly desired.
• Candidates should have the ability to, or be on track for, obtaining their North Carolina soil science license.
• The individual hired for this position will be performing work under the direction of a Licensed Soil Scientist with DRG.
• Candidates should possess skills in using office software (Microsoft Word/Excel/Google Docs etc.) and working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Candidates should also be comfortable with working outside (primarily woods) and in difficult (e.g. hot or remote) field conditions.
• Experience with GPS equipment and ArcGIS is preferred.
