As a critical member of our care team, the hospice chaplain is responsible for providing nondenominational spiritual care support and guidance that honors the patient’s beliefs and values. As a hospice chaplain, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising the spiritual care of the patient and family. Consulting closely with the care team, you will assess on an ongoing basis the spiritual and religious needs of the patient and family and will provide support in establishing connections within the community. And just like all of our team members, we ask our hospice chaplains to uphold Agape Care’s core values and standards.

  • A heart to serve patients and families and a passion for providing the best possible care
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in counseling, theology, divinity, or related field. Completion of one unit of clinical pastoral education or minister services preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a health care or hospice setting required. Experience in family counseling regarding issues of loss, grief, death and dying.
  • Required: Reliable transportation. Ability to sit, stand, bend, move intermittently and lift at least 25lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively.
