SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Generalist II performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Human Resources team. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting a fast-paced Human Resources team, will be an excellent communicator, and will possess strong attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide general support to the Human Resources team.
- Process employee transactions, including new hire, position/manager changes, compensation updates, and departures in the HRIS with focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and process new employee paperwork, including Form I-9, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Create, update and maintain employee files/records ensuring compliance.
- Maintain HRIS; perform periodic audits to ensure completeness; generate reports as requested.
- Manage the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program, including scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics, preparing needed materials, and communicating with the new employee and internal resources.
- Assist in the preparation of bi-weekly payroll.
- Prepare, distribute and track employee service, birthday & recognition awards.
- Maintain federal and state required compliance postings in local office.
- Hone technical knowledge of employment laws and trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, innovate, and participate in team-wide projects focused on process or program improvement.
- Assist with team meeting set up and other administrative tasks as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Knowledge of the I-9 process and requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- High attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in basic math proficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and reporting required; Sage People preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years HR Generalist experience.
- AA or HR Certificate required; BS in Human Resources/related field preferred.
- Prior employee relations experience a plus.
- Prior experience with I-9 audits a plus.
- Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
