We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Controller. This individual will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial information for the Precision Planting business. The person should enjoy working in a very dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are looking for a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of manager who is comfortable living in the details and has the ability to understand the big picture.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and finalize monthly financial statements and present to the AGCO Corporate Controllership team
- Provides expertise and support during external and internal audits, Balance Sheet review and other statutory requests
- Ensures compliance with all Corporate Policies, Financial SOX controls and GAAP
- Drive for efficiencies and optimization of overall finance support utilizing new system tools and functionalities while ensuring financial integrity is maintained at all times in all reporting systems
- Provides financial expertise on strengthening and expediting business processes and procedures
- Responsible for yearly inventory costing and sales price review
- Acts as Precision Planting liaison with AGCO Corporate Treasury and responsible for weekly cash flow forecasting
- Supervision of and responsibility for training, providing guidance, and oversight for the Precision Planting Accounting Team
- Oversee all functions of accounting systems including general ledger and the preparation of the monthly financial statements
- Drive effective Capital Expenses planning tied to business objectives
Required Skills/Experience
- 7 years of Accounting or Finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Solid financial knowledge including GAAP
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of cost accounting
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to work across functional and regional team members
- Problem-solving experience, and willingness to learn
- Understanding of financial theories
- Understanding of accounting principles and concepts
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a logical, controlled approach
Desired skills/education/experience/attributes (ideal candidate):
- CPA or MBA a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains & SAP
- Experience working in a global organization supporting multiple business units
- Experience working for a technology company
- Experience working on M&A activities
- Understanding of Ag Sector and underlying fundamentals
