Job Summary
The Dietary Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring the nutritional well-being of our participants. You will work closely with the Registered Dietician to provide high-quality meals and support a positive dining experience for our participants. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to customer service will contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in meal and snack preparation according to established guidelines.
- Monitor and log food temperatures to ensure food safety.
- Serve meals to participants in a timely and respectful manner.
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and individual preferences of each participant.
- Implements proper food handling and storage techniques to avoid cross contamination.
- Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into a dish machine. Put away clean dishes and utensils.
- Complete Daily Cleaning tasks to maintain sanitation standards.
- Empty trash containers regularly.
- Perform proper personal hygiene and infection control practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Adhere to all food safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate regularly with other members of the team.
- Provide high quality customer service to participants.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Basic understanding of nutrition principles and dietary restrictions.
- Detail oriented, with strong multi-tasking skills
- Prior dietary experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Physical demands: Dietary Aide must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling and repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodations. Dietary Aide must be able to lift, pull and carry up to 40lbs. Dietary Aide must be able to talk and hear, particularly for daily interactions with team members and elderly participants.
Work Environment: Dietary Aide must be able to work in a busy and demanding center environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
