21-22 King Conservation District Agriculture Projects Coord.
The King Conservation District is a special purpose district focused on the conservation of natural resources within our region. We offer educational opportunities and technical assistance to people in our community, educating people on stewardship actions they can take at home and in our communities to create healthy soil and water, to provide healthy food, and to conserve land, water, forests, wildlife. King. The Community Agriculture Projects Coordinator will support KCD Community Agriculture programs by building urban gardens, recruiting volunteers, facilitating volunteer events, and developing and delivering trainings for community members. We will begin our interview process in July.
Member Duties : The Community Agriculture Projects Coordinator will participate in community agriculture project planning, design, implementation, and monitoring as well as some labor intensive activities including invasive species removal, installing raised beds, and planting native plant species. This position will also plan, coordinate and facilitate educational training events for community members around gardening and food preparation topics. This position will build partnerships with other non-profits and agencies to support projects, develop outreach materials, recruit local schools and corporate groups to volunteer, and facilitate community volunteer events at KCD sponsored community agriculture project sites. This position will occasionally attend outreach and volunteer events on Saturdays and weekday evenings.
