What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at AGI?
Job Summary:
The Material Handler (MH) reports to the Shipping Manager and is responsible for the safe and efficient loading of ACM panel crates, MML crates, and supporting materials on trucks for shipment. The Material Handler is responsible for the unloading of materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. The Material Handler also is responsible for the inventory of the goods received from vehicles and must ensure the goods match the packing list and all items are accounted for. The MH is also responsible for the housekeeping of the receiving docks and shipping yard.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely fulfillment and delivery of all materials.
- Assist Fabricators with organizing and maintaining proper location of panels.
- Maintain claims on shortages, damages, and overages of material.
- Assist with inventory management and monthly inventory control.
- Ensure material racks and storage are kept in order.
- Ensure that all standard inventory material is maintained to specified quantities.
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks.
- Operate forklift safety, after training is complete.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
- Identify and label materials and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory.
- Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them
- Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.
- Perform and report cycle counts.
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
Job Specifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum one year experience in Manufacturing preferred. Ability to read tape measure required. Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance required.
- Soft Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, collaboration, adaptability, problem solving, and time management.
- PPE: Must wear provided PPE per AGI safety regulations.
