POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility including corn field production, conditioning, warehousing, distribution, and personnel. This position leads the location leadership team and will work to ensure location operating, continuous improvement, and safety goals are accomplished.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop, propose, and manage capital projects and long-term strategic planning for the facility
- Lead continuous improvement data collection and implementation of projects and activities to increase efficiency and productivity for the location
- Trains and coaches the team to enhance productivity and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for engaging the team, implementing the engagement action plan, and leading engagement conversations
- Take the lead role in employee performance reviews, reviewing merit increases, training, and development of employees as well as communicating disciplinary actions
- Minimize the cost of goods manufactured (COGM) for the designated location
- Review, maintain, and ensure adherence to all QMS programs
- Lead area supervisors to ensure all plant and field operations meet efficiency and quality standards
- Work with field management/agronomy and manage growing areas as needed
- Recruit, hire, develop, and coach regular and seasonal staff as needed
- Develop and maintain location operational budgets and manage the expenditures
- Lead root cause analysis of any safety, quality, and productivity incidents
- Coordinate purchasing activities for location
- Supervise seed distribution to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries
- Approve shift scheduled for all operations as created by functional supervisors and others
- Manage the performance of your team on a timely basis according to the HR guidelines
- Assesses labor requirements for all operations activities ahead of time to avoid any gaps in business continuity
- Report labor needs and schedules to Leadership and Finance
- Ensures a root cause analysis is done for each customer concern to address concerns in a timely manner for enhanced customer satisfaction
- Assume leadership role in AgReliant’ s safety culture and ensure safety standards are being followed in the workplace
- Responsible for projecting a positive image AgReliant Genetics and acting in accordance with the Company’s Core Values
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Crop Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field required
- Technical knowledge of plant, agronomy, and warehousing operations
- 5 or more years of seed industry experience (or related industry)
- 3 or more years of previous management/leadership experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet MVR Requirements
- Ability to work required hours and shifts
- Ability to lift 65 lbs.
- Variable environmental working conditions (Office, Warehouse, and Field)
- Ability to travel up to 10% with some overnight travel required
