AgriNorthwest is seeking a collaborative and results-driven Central Support Services Manager to be responsible for the central functions of the Treasure Valley Farm. This includes overseeing maintenance, repair, and construction of the pump stations and water delivery systems as well as implementing standards and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures regarding personnel and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision and operation of the pump station, maintenance of the system, and timely water delivery which includes repairs and installation of control panels, electrical motors, screens, pumps, and valves.
- Perform timely repairs and preventative maintenance of pumping stations and underground pipelines.
- Manage the shop facility in an efficient and service-oriented manner, including inventory management of all parts.
- Ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained.
- Develop an effective system of scheduling and prioritizing workloads and orders.
- Recruit, train and mentor a high-performing team of pump operators, pump and valve mechanics, welders, shop mechanics including seasonal and temporary employees.
- Manage the OTR trucks that haul commodities, fertilizers and other cargo.
- Upkeep DOT standards and certification on all required farm equipment.
- Direct the maintenance and repair of farm roads with minimal cost to reduce wear and tear on farm vehicles and equipment.
- Research, select, justify and recommend major equipment and input purchases.
- Assist in developing capital and operating plans, budgets, and maintain adherence to those plans.
- Oversee all fertilizer and liquid containments.
- Support other farm-related tasks including but are not limited to onion storage management, area electrical maintenance, fertilizer delivery, field equipment fueling and servicing, area road maintenance, parts room management, etc.
- Motivate and frequently inform the team on all policy, procedures, and safety in the performance of operations and tasks, per company standards.
- Upkeep on current industry education, renew job-related professional licenses/certifications, and cross-train the team in all tasks.
- Champion a best-in-class safety program by promoting consistent safety training attendance, compliance with all OSHA and company/industry policies, as well as encouraging the use of PPE and adherence to all other EHS programs.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in agricultural irrigation and equipment maintenance with supervisory experience.
- H.S. diploma required. Advanced degree desired.
- Working knowledge and progressive experience with water delivery systems operation and maintenance including ability to manage mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and equipment issues.
- Excavation Safety for Competent Person Training.
- Knowledge of large pipe (12”-96”) installation and repair.
- Proficient computer skills: ability to learn new systems/technology including Microsoft tools and proprietary programs.
- Must have a valid, in-state driver’s license, First Aid, and CPR card.
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Bilingual Spanish skills a plus.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job which includes heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and twisting repetitively throughout work shift. Stepping up, stepping down and kneeling required.
- Must be able to accommodate the regular farm schedule of 55-75 hours per week, in addition to working nights, some holidays and weekends, per business needs.
