True West Beef is hiring a Quality Assurance Utility (Harvest) team member. The Quality Assurance Utility (Harvest) is responsible for monitoring harvest areas to ensure Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures, Safe Quality Foods, and HACCP requirements are met and ensure that the product conforms to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor to ensure conformance with company food safety policies
- Monitor to ensure sanitary dressing practices are met and humane handling practices are followed
- Monitor food safety programs
- Perform inspections of carcasses
- Perform sampling procedures and record data
- Perform humane handling audits
- Monitor working environment
- Maintain daily records
- Collaborate with production and maintenance to implement food safety programs
- Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Basic computer skills
- Possess high initiative and be self-motivated
- Lead by example in the areas of Humane Handling, Food and Personal Safety, and Attendance
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
- Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures from hot to cold
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a production environment, preferably meat/food production
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in Quality Assurance
