Job DescriptionSAFETY:
Promote the Safety Culture of Agri-Service Attend safety training both in person and virtual.
Advocate and exemplify safety and safe working habits using proper safety equipment not limited to hand, face, ear and eye protection.
(PPE) Follows company safety policies and procedures on the jobsite, promotes safe behavior with our customers. Maintains a clean office environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads the Accounting Department in support of the company vision, mission, and values.
Directs the preparation of all financial reports with a high level of accuracy, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow, reports to parent company, tax returns, and reports for financial institutions as well as government regulatory agencies.
Responsible for Accounting functions of company ERP system, utilization and enhancements. Oversees Accounting Department, budget preparation, and audit functions. Meets regularly with the Leadership Team to keep informed and to offer direction. Reviews and communicates budget to actual variances to Leadership Team regarding sales, margins and profits. Advises team on actionable items to improve sales and profits.Advise Leadership Team on the effect of economic changes, new governmental regulations or tax laws and their effect upon the business.
Analyze company operations to determine where more, or less, resources are needed, including reorganization, downsizing, elimination, growth and expansion to achieve the company's strategic goals.
Manage the credit limits and spending levels on company credit cards and ensures manager approval on expenditures. Assist in managing the companies' relationships with external auditor.Ensures adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all finances may pass independent and governmental audits Collaborates with the Leadership Team to coordinate and prioritize planning and strategic initiatives.
Develops capital forecasts, both short term and long-term. Manages banking relationships to obtain capital as required for ongoing operations and/or expansion. Manages procurement, disposal, construction, accounting, repair and maintenance of all Agri-service fixed assets. Works as lead point of contact for real estate procurement and building projects.Participates as a member of the Terteling Employees Thrift Savings and Profit-Sharing Plan Committee with responsibility in selecting investment options, evaluating the investment plan's investment performance and overseeing Agri-Service operations and assets.
Reviews legal matters and coordinates with legal counsel in matters affecting Agri-Service. Supervises Accounting employees. Performs annual performance and compensation reviews. Administers discipline; has authority to hire and terminate employees. Works safely at all times. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards. Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission and values of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of and ability to apply financial principles and GAAP. Proven skills and experience in change management. Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building. Ability to present financial material in front of groups varying in size. Ability to relate to all levels of employees. Ability to be a team player that motivates and educates other team members. Ability to set and manage priorities. Consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance required. CPA or CMA required. Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
Eight to ten years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning Knowledge of accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft computer products. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
