Position Purpose
The Senior Systems Engineer will focus on building and maintaining existing systems and new components within Microsoft Azure as SunStream transforms its currently technology stack to utilize more cloud services. This candidate will participate in the efforts to build out and support new components using best practices, standards, and using automation with Infrastructure as Code wherever possible. In this position, the qualified individual will also have knowledge and experience to support on-prem systems such as Active Directory in a multi-domain environment, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, another Microsoft components to support a hybrid configuration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3 years of experience building and supporting an Azure environment
• 7 years supporting or administrating a client/server environment
• Microsoft Associate level Certification such as Azure or Microsoft 365
• ITIL Certification

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with Azure Resource Manager, Resource Groups, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, PowerShell, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Site Recovery
• Experience managing Azure resources in a multi-tenant environment
• Experience in working with Azure policies and DevOps
• Advanced skill in provisioning Azure infrastructure and PaaS using best practices
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Permissions and Privileges
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Server Roles – DNS, DHCP, File/Print
• Advanced knowledge of software roles, services and applications
• Advanced overall skill in Microsoft Azure and M365 services
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems in VMWare
• Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
• Skill in analyzing information to formulate logical and objective conclusions
• Discipline to identify and act on opportunities in process and infrastructure design to improve efficiency, security, and system availability.
• Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and technical leadership.
• Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and customers
• Skill in planning and coordinating projects
• Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of SunStream and client systems and data
