The Office of the Chief Financial Officer, National Finance Center, will utilize Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies for Cybersecurity positions.This announcement is for a REPOSITORY of applications, that MAY BE periodically referred.Due to the large number of applicants anticipated, status will not be updated UNLESS referred.

Qualifications:

All positions, dependent upon grade levels being filled, require some level of related experience or education. (Job family series included for this vacancy are listed below)

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards; for additional information refer to the General Schedule (GS) qualifications link: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/. Position requirements vary dependent upon the specific series and grade, you must meet any minimum experience or training requirements per OPM qualifications standards and show through experience and/or training that you possess the quality level of knowledge, skill and ability necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which applying.

The DETAILED description of your work experience in your personal resume must clearly demonstrate that you have gained and currently possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position and grade being filled. When qualifying based on education and/or training, all transcripts and/or certifications must be submitted at the time of application.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The OCFO will accept applications for this vacancy for ONLY the following occupational series: 2210 Information Technology Management (Cyber security).

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as work experience that involves the security of and operations in cyberspace and encompasses threat reduction, vulnerability reduction, deterrence, international engagement, incident response, resiliency, and recovery activities, including computer network operations, information assurance, diplomacy, military, and intelligence missions as they relate to securing the global information and communication infrastructure.
