The Field CTO is the highest-ranking level technical sales level within AHEAD. In the role, you will work in cooperation with the AHEAD Sales and Presales leadership to manage the technical go-to-market and relationship management for our valued clients. As a Field CTO, assist in all technical aspects of a sales campaign and hand off to our consulting and services team, as well as the management of technical solution designs.
In this role, you are a senior thought leader within the technical organization, responsible for designing marketing programs, building education programs, writing white papers, architecting solutions, presenting at industry events and executive briefings and consulting for AHEAD clients. We expect a Field CTO to possess or acquire expert knowledge across our Digital Delivery Platform including cloud management and operations, automation, DevOps, security, enterprise infrastructure, and application and data architectures. A Field CTO should be skilled in translating the digital challenges of our clients and building relationships. They must have an established reputation across more than one of these segments to drive product and services sales that focus on client outcomes.
In partnership with account teams, you will help build cohesive account strategies for strategic current and prospective clients. You will help teams identify potential solutions, technologies, and vendors, and assist in driving this strategy throughout the sales campaign.
Time management and prioritization are essential attributes of a successful Field CTO. You are a technical thought leader for each of your clients and partners. In this capacity, you will own strategy, compare alternative approaches, and build key relationships, as well as help design solutions. Positioning and leveraging Subject Matter Experts is a necessity to scale your effectiveness within our clients. You will also be expected to provide insight and details regarding work effort and client engagement to enable tracking of key KPIs throughout the year through tools that will be provided to you.

Responsibilities
- Understand and articulate AHEAD's value and vision to our clients, partners, and teammates
- Qualify sales opportunities in the terms of client technical requirements, decision making process and funding and decide if we should move forward with the campaign
- Drive account team efforts to become more strategic within current clients
- Work with our partner ecosystem to demonstrate thought leadership and solution alignment
- Lead Executive Briefings and Lab Demonstrations with clients and partners
- Qualify and position consulting engagements and services
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team resources to enhance their solution knowledge, technical acumen, and presales skill sets
- Prioritize opportunities and efforts assigned to the geography based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit
- Drive engagement conversions to additional services / solutions
- Provide feedback to improve internal efficiencies
- Work with Practice Directors to provide input and suggestions for new solutions and offerings
- Present regularly at AHEAD events, user groups, conferences, and forums
- Lead Solution Verification Review process for the supported geography
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
- 15 years Presales or IT Leadership experience is required
- Previous practical experience leading digital transformation efforts preferred
- Strong industry expertise in healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, or retail a plus
- Extensive knowledge/experience in multiple areas across: Digital Strategy, DevOps, Cloud, Data, Infrastructure, Service Management, Automation, Security, and IT Operations
- Professional communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working as a technical lead in a sales campaign
- Tenaciously customer-focused and outcome-driven
- Ability to work under critical conditions and influence others to achieve results
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent presentation skills
- Must be independent, self-motivated, a self-starter and possess a good working attitude
