What are the responsibilities and job description for the Push Off Operator position at AHF LLC?
Pay: $16.71
Shift: 1st Shift
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Push unfinished wood off of pallets onto sander in order to supply sander feeders with sufficient wood and to operate the belt from flooring mill.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Responsible for following Job Safety Analysis guidelines to ensure safe operation.
- Ensures proper species of wood is being run to meet production needs by utilizing information from pallet tickets, sander operator and lead person.
- Removes banding from flooring pallets using banding cutters and disposes of banding in required manner. Separates and stacks used pallet runners onto pallets for re-use.
- Operates machine that controls height of flooring pallets by using foot pedal and push button controls.
- Stands behind pallet of flooring and pushes several layers of flooring into conveyor supplying sander feeders with a continuous flow of wood
- Monitors incoming conveyor for wood hang ups, correcting any flow issue that arise between the sander feeder belt and the push off belt.
- Sweeps dust and debris from work area into waste can and takes can to outside trash dumpster to empty.
- Feed all used strapping that is removed from mill ITW pallets into band chopper each day.
- Notify sander operator when band chopper needs repair.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
- Positive and Verifiable Work History
- Recent manufacturing experience in the wood industry preferred.
- Recent manufacturing experience in an industrial work environment preferred.
