Essential Functions of the Job: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Supervises/assists the Day-to-Day operation of the Maintenance Storeroom
    • Directs the activities of the Storeroom Team and evaluates their performance.
    • Responsible for the associated training and development of direct reporting Storeroom Attendants, who order, receive, and restock inventory; and also issue or ship parts and RMA components.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and periodic review of Storeroom policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all Site Policies are adhered to.
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor to identify, review, approve, and assign resources for rebuilds, projects, and related activities
  • Locating, sourcing, expediting critical repair parts and recommending satisfactory substitutes for unavailable materials and services.
  • Use catalogs, blueprints, and gauges as necessary to identify and verify material
  • The MRO Storeroom Supervisor fosters professional relationships with multiple internal customers, partners and external vendors.
  • This position also works closely with the maintenance planning and scheduling functions to ensure planned jobs are in kit form and status regularly updated.
  • Timely and accurate purchases and receipt of materials and supplies are performed through the SAP/ ERP system.

Inventory Management

  • Establish effective inventory control program, including setting minimum and economic order quantities, recommending improved storeroom layouts and procedures.
    • Conduct and document physical inventories, cycle counts, service level assessments, and Storeroom Audits to ensure safety, security and inventory accuracy.
    • Resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock control records.
    • Conduct annual inventory reconciliation along with periodic cycle counts
  • Ensure that stocks and supplies are adequate, easily retrievable and are stored in a manner that preserves their quality.
  • Assists Maintenance Supervision in locating needed non-stocked repair items and in determining whether they should be added to inventory.
  • Appropriately disposition obsolete items and review minimum and economic order quantity levels routinely.
  • Own the layout and design of the storeroom, considering factors such as stock turnover, size, and weight.
    • Update central and satellite storerooms on a continuous basis by reshelving, rearranging and consolidating stock.
  • Process all receiving reports, returned goods, purchase orders in a timely fashion to prevent disruption to plant and accounting operations.
  • Coordinate prompt handling of receiving documents and invoices to ensure approval and payment to maximize buying discounts.

Purchasing

  • Principal Buyer
  • Purchase necessary MRO materials ensuring availability of parts and supplies for plant operations.
  • Expedite incoming materials shipments as necessary and communicate closely with individuals awaiting receipts to prevent interference to plant operations.Negotiation of materials and supplies with vendors based on pricing, quality and delivery.
  • Adhere to indirect buying strategy.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Effectively utilize and maintain the integrity of relevant inventory and information management systems.
    • Knowledge and ability to use ERP and/or CMMS systems which may include writing work orders, looking up work orders, finding parts and writing requisitions to order parts.
    • CMMS oversight of accuracy and use of data; i.e. equipment list, BOM’s, etc.
    • Ad hoc reporting for management team
    • Provide reports, graphs, and charts as required
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 2-year Parts Room experience in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment
    • MRP knowledge
    • Expert Knowledge of parts inventory control methods
    • Proven mechanical/electrical aptitude
    • Must agree to follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment; e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed
    • Detail-oriented with strong 5S and Organizational Skills
    • Personal computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems.
    • Experience working in an Industrial Maintenance environment preferred
    • Previous Supervisory experience preferred with the ability to train/mentor direct reports and junior team members
    • Excellent decision-making skills in times of ambiguity
    • Experience using a forklift is a plus
    • Experience working with vendors
    • Must possess shift and schedule flexibility of regular time as well as any shift that may include off-hours and/or weekends, as needed
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
