What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill Supervisor position at Ahlstrom?
Purpose of the job
Lead the day to day operations of the mill utilities group. Ensure that the day-to-day requirements of the NPDES Permit and all mill utility (water and steam) needs (except electrical) are met. Oversee the Fiber Recovery and WIN4 operations.
Main responsibility areas
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Compliance with NPDES Permit
- Continuous supply of mill water to ISO standards
- Manage all utilities for site (except electrical) including:
- Main Steam Supply & Condensate
- Waste Management (solid & liquid)
- Environmental Systems (Krofta, Diffuser, etc.)
- Responsible for career development of direct reports and department safety, training review and needs as identified.
- Responsible for shift scheduling, and various outages (maintenance, cleaning, inspections, etc.) of water plant, Krofta.
- Responsible for ensuring the Environmental Manual is followed to comply with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System for all appropriate area’s of responsibilities
- Responsible for the operation of the Fiber Recovery and PM4 areas
Weekend duty and on call requirements

Work experience
- Previously managed hourly workers, preferred
- Ability to obtain a
- Worked in an Industrial environment certification for management of waste per the RCRA requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Project, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong interest in pursuing growth and development in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on future assignments as part of the manufacturing managerial team
Formal education
High School Diploma or GED
