Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Senior Data Engineer
Position Type: Contract to Hire
Duration: 3-6 Months Contract to Hire
Location: Phoenix, AZ (2-3 Days Onsite Rest Remote)
As a Senior Data Engineer you will:
- Use Reporting tools like BI tableau/Power BI
- Python and Scala are pluses, but Microsoft tools are most important in helping migrate to the latest technology-building data warehouse (DWH).
- Focus on ETL: Client uses C# currently and SSIS might move into data bricks and or Azure data factory-migrating to big data.
- Open other cloud technologies (Azure/GCP/AWS)
- Docker/Kubernetes/API-pluses
- Team is building BI data platform; Current reporting is old hence want to move primarily on power BI-hands-on building things from scratch.
- Experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (Power BI and SSIS).
- Understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights.
- Hands on experience in tools and systems on MS SQL Server BI Stack, including TSQL, Power Query, PowerBI, and DAX.
- Hands on experience doing ETL using MS BI stack (SSIS, Power Shell) or any cloud technology like Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Scala, Spark SQL, data bricks etc...
- Hands on experience writing, optimizing, and debugging SQL code.
- Build automated reports, dashboards and visual interactive reports using Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Strong Knowledge and experience with writing DAX queries and functions in Power BI.
- Experience with MS office tools like excel, word, power point.
- Experience working with build and deploy tools Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins.
- Experience working on an Agile Development team and delivering features incrementally.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, Power BI and proactively recommend and implement improvements to our data infrastructure.
- Ability to multi-task, be adaptable, and nimble within a team environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
