What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Research Scientist position at AiCure?
I. Summary
The Senior Research Scientist will lead research, design and implementation of advanced computer vision solutions related to AiCure products. This position reports to the Director of AI, Engineering.
II. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and implement novel algorithms to solve real-world Computer Vision problems to improve healthcare (more specifically, problems in medication adherence and digital biomarker).
- Implement and create prototypes demonstrating the viability of using the algorithms in practice.
- Develop and deploy computer vision solutions
- Collect relevant training data and run experiments comparing with state-of-the-art methods, with a strong focus on performance on challenging real-world conditions (motion, camera shake, low-light, etc.).
- Work closely with the team to ensure that research is appropriately transferred to impact products.
- Add to our existing patent portfolio and publish in top-tier conferences and journals.
- Continuously stay up to date on advances in the research community (e.g., by experimenting with different Deep Learning models, data sets, algorithms, etc.).
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the strategy, operation and activities of the company
III Required Education & Training:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, or a related field,
- At least 3 years of experience in research and development.
- The candidate must have experience in image segmentation, clustering, object detection, and similar topics in Computer Vision or Research Scientist.
- Industry experience is preferred.
- Publications in top-tier conferences and journals (such as ICCV, CVPR, ACM Transactions, etc.) are preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
- Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
- Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form.
- Ability to manage and provide tactical leadership to development team members.
- Company directed training related to Quality Management System, Human Subjects, Security and Good Clinical Practice.
