Responsibilities:
Since 1991, Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services(as part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers) has brought renewed hope for those suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, and those with alcohol and substance use disorders. The 62-bed facility, located on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The facility offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians and recreation therapists who are committed to high quality care.
Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agencies and treatment centers, conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources. The Clinician is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to assure accurate coordination of care.
Admissions Clinician duties include addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance, performing level of care mental health assessments, documenting in the electronic medical record , coordinating patient care with internal and external providers, maintaining department records/statistics, complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed and participate in patient safety activities.

Job Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Counseling or Behavioral Health (Counseling, Social Work, Sociology or Psychology) or relatable field with relevant experience in intake and admissions. State License preferred(LISW, LMSW, LPC, etc.)
Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply.
Minimum one year experience in mental health setting performing assessments.
