The primary purpose of this position is to TRAINING SUPPORT SPECIALIST GS-0301-12, is to serve as the primary, center level, point or contact to plan, organize, administer, standardize and implement all functions, systems, policy and procedures for a specified series position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge in both short and long range plans to training, development of training; development of training materials and courses; knowledge of management and organization principles and theories sufficient to identify, investigate and analyze complex problems and recommend effective solutions. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

- Knowledge of training specialist methods and techniques for management and implementation of professional and technical development training programs for the Maintenance Directorate.
- Knowledge of education and training programs and related management principles and techniques for administering such programs.
- Knowledge of mission and functions of the Maintenance Directorate and policy and directives governing development and implementation of education and training programs.
- Ability to analyze current or projected operating programs to evaluate their actual or potential effectiveness in achieving objectives.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for planning, developing and delivering professional development courses, seminars and orientation programs.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and provide recommendations to the activities of the Human Resources Development Branch insuring that all maintenance training requirements complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- Direct the establishment of local policies and procedures for use by product directorates in developing programs directly related to all industrial occupations anywhere within the industrial complex.
- Represent the Human Resources Development Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
