HVAC Service Controls Technician- $25-43/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HVAC Service Controls Technician diagnoses and repairs complex electronic control systems with the ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software. Efficiently install and terminate communication and low voltage wiring. Interface with mechanical technicians regarding the customers building automation needs. Perform maintenance and service repairs on refrigeration and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have training and experience in Building Automation, Digital Direct Controls (DDC) Systems, pneumatic controls, and a high level of computer and software skills. 3 years’ experience in building controls and automation, including troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair preferred. Niagara AX and basic IP networking experience is a plus.

  • EPA Certification required
  • OSHA certification a plus
  • Basic N4 Certification preferred
  • Ditech basic training a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Clean background check
  • Must have a complete understanding of the refrigerant cycle, and have a basic electrical knowledge
  • Must be able to work from plans customary to the trade’s area, including the ability to understand electrical schematics as they pertain to HVAC systems
  • Technician must have superior skills in the operation of most basic power and hand tools common to the HVAC trade
  • Troubleshooting multiple types of DDC systems

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to install a job with prints and minimal oversite.
  • Run conduit and pull wire, install bridal rings, pull communication wire.
  • Terminate all controllers, including global controllers and network connection.
  • Download basic program controller.
  • Do point to point checkout, installation check and pogram verification.
  • Provide technical knowledge to diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupant comfort.
  • Diagnose and repair complex DDC system’s requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of DDC systems.
  • Understands the importance and urgency of system installations to reduce customer downtime.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration units of all types.
  • Inspect and operate air conditioning units and machinery to determine that all are functioning properly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair RTU’S and split systems up to 25 ton in size.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hot water hydronic systems up to 1million btu’s.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems.
  • Provide maximum customer service and professional communication to all associates and customers.
