Site Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Site Manager at our Torrance, CA Hydrogen facility. The facility consists of two Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) hydrogen plants with associated auxiliary equipment and syngas purification systems. These sites are located within the PBF Torrance Refinery. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with the plant and regional support teams as well as contractors. The position reports into the Line Manager – California HyCO.
The Site Manager advises, monitors, and controls the operation and maintenance of all production units to safely, efficiently, and reliably meet customer requirements. This individual will continually collaborate with the HyCO Line Manager, Asset Managers, and Technical Support Groups to optimize services and profits. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with the plant and regional support teams, as well as contractors. This individual reports to the Line Manager – California HYCO.

In California, the expected pay range is $129,750 - $208,100, plus bonus. This is the pay range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Required Skills / Abilities:
- Understanding of EH&S standards to ensure the protection of employees, contractors, the community, and the environment, establishing an atmosphere of safety and empower personnel to remain passionate about safety and ensures safety programs are executed
- Ability to direct and supervise plant production, maximizing asset utilization, cost minimization and performance improvement to efficiently meet customer requirements
- Able to lead and develop the plant’s capabilities and personnel by inspiring, mentoring and recognizing the team by embracing diversity, empowering employees to do their best work by providing regular and honest feedback, while supporting employees to confidently express their viewpoints
- Lead the maintenance activities and plant operation to minimize downtime and meet customer requirements. During periods of crisis, he/she is required to respond immediately to plan, prioritize, and execute accurate remedial actions.
- 10 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical plant, industrial gas plant, or an operation of equivalent complexity
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of leadership experience in operations or plant management
- Strong technical and operational knowledge to lead the executing team and to serve as the focal point for senior leadership
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills are crucial as interactions with the customer at the senior management levels are required
Education and Licensing Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
