Summary
Directs and coordinates all manufacturing / assembly activities throughout 120,000 SF injection molding facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate shift leads.
Essential Duties
- Able to recognize safety hazards and unsafe acts and take immediate action to correct and implement effective means of preventing re-occurrences.
- Drive culture toward the goal of zero injuries and increased hazard awareness in the workforce.
- Manage compliance to corporate safety programs for all manufacturing personnel.
- Conduct daily safety toolbox meetings and train lead personnel to conduct effective toolbox talk meetings.
- Manage compliance of daily toolbox/safety meetings and regulations.
- Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and complete/update appropriate reports and alerts.
- Supervise personally and through 3 shift Leads and 6 Injection Mold Technicians up to 75 hourly employees during peak summer season.
- Adjust/train personnel on injection molding machines to maintain high efficiencies. This includes instructing and training employees on how to adjust auxiliary equipment on molding machines and processing adjustments for the parts being molded.
- Responsible for creating and adjusting daily production schedule on fifteen molding machines.
- Inspect and monitor the quality of parts, assembled components, and finished products of the required areas of responsibility.
- Accurately report production, cycle count, clear negatives, and report scrap to maintain the system’s integrity. Able to personally work within system to resolve issues as needed.
- Work closely with maintenance team to manage planned downtime maintenance activities on equipment and servicing molds.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Secondary Accountabilities
- Verify employees’ production reporting accuracy, procedural compliance and time and attendance.
- Develop and implement procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient operation of all assembly equipment.
- Be able to perform all duties and activities of the workers supervised.
- Be able to cover Plant Management duties while Plant Manager is on vacation or traveling for business reasons.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problem.
- Responsible for directing 3 shift Leads and 6 Injection Molding Technicians.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Plastics preferred) or a combination of education and experience.
- Years of Experience: 5 years’ experience in manufacturing with at least 3 years being in a supervisory capacity.
- Direct experience with injection molding facility strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skill.
- You’re a team player and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- You have a desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to promote teamwork among peers is a must.
- Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
Work conditions: non-controlled cold and hot climate in a heavy manufacturing environment. Able to start shift as early as 7:00AM.
