What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner position at AirBorn?
SUMMARY: Single Point of Contact for timely, pro-active and collaborative Materials and Production Control Management for designated CFT Customer Orders at all AirBorn sites, domestic and international, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Proactively monitors AirBorn’s Material Procurement and Production Scheduling activities both domestic and international, associated with designated Customer.
- Coordinates with Materials Department representatives to ensure timely delivery of materials to support Order completion and delivery to Customer.
- Where appropriate, coordinates with Site Materials Scheduling Personnel and recommends stocking levels for inventory based on forecasts, history and lead times.
- Proactively notifies CFT Lead and Materials Manager of potential missed Material Scheduling commitments and provides recommended solutions for schedule recovery.
- Resolves problems related to assigned projects by working with suppliers, customers, shop personnel and others as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
- Completion of a Bachelors degree or vocational degree from a college or university, plus
- Two to six years of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to effectively direct and manage the efforts of others outside of reporting responsibility.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, and customers in a respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
