  • This position is responsible for employment, safety, and skills development proficiency training related to the structural repair of aircraft.
  • Conduct training related to maintenance documentation, company policies, and procedures, safety, and FAA regulations.
  • Develop training material in written, digital, and hands on formats.
  • Schedules courses, creates rosters, certificates records, and updates as needed.
  • Monitors recurrent training and schedules individuals for training prior to expirations.
  • Must exercise good judgment, and have exceptional interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • Serve as a mentor to new employees.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for specific training topics, and is responsible for developing and presenting the required training programs to selected personnel.
  • Assemble and administer Training and Qualifications as directed.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

  • A&P or A FAA license required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in FAR 121 or 145 environments as a technician, inspector, or maintenance instructor. (A320 Family, or B737, B757, B767 preferred.)
  • Must have completed General Familiarization courses on at least one of the aforementioned aircraft types.
  • Strong background in formal and performance training.
  • Must have proven good judgment, and exceptional interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • MS Office
    • Ability to create graphs and charts in MS Excel.
    • Proficient in the creation of Power Point Presentations.
  • Must be able to effectively speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of FAA regulations and ATA specifications as they relate to aircraft maintenance, and training.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform public speaking in a natural and comfortable manner.
  • Ability to operate and train sheet metal fabrication and safety equipment necessary to perform the job.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum or Five (5) years of aircraft Structural Repair experience
  • Previous Aircraft Maintenance training experience
  • Completed Gen Fams for other Boeing, Airbus, and other aircraft makes and models.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and explain aircraft structural drawings.
  • Experience in CI and Lean is a plus.

Major Responsibility Areas And Duties

  • Develop training plans and curriculum to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Conducting ongoing needs assessments to identify/determine training requirements.
  • Using internal and external resources (Airborne Trainers and/or outside vendors) to meet training needs.
  • Planning and implementing technical training programs, such as Gen Fams, Rigging, and other technical courses to improve the knowledge base of our team.
  • Scheduling company training such as new hire indoc, recurrent, and Customer required training
  • Ensuring the appropriate entries are made into the electronic database and document all training and certifications of Airborne employees.
  • Remain current on new training approaches, techniques, trends and professional training associations.
  • Assess training needs and make recommendations for training
  • Assist in CI and Lean training as directed.
  • Assemble lists of tooling and materials for the classroom, and follow through to procure them as the schedule requires.
  • Mentor students and serve as an example of a model employee for the company.
  • Assist and direct students to help them obtain an FAA Repairman’s certificate.
