The Chief Engineer plays an integral role in the overall success of products across ADG; is an integral part of the senior executive team; leads technology development and product development; and establishes company-wide engineering standards, protocols and processes. KEY DELIVERABLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead the engineering and design team to develop safe, efficient, and effective products that fall within budget.Evaluate all costs associated with product engineering development including materials, costs of labor, and time expended.Create plans and budgets for each product and makes any adjustments needed in consultation with the COO.Lead the engineering team, assigning short- and long-term goals for successful completion of each product’s engineering development plan.Enforce safety, quality and engineering standards for the finished product.Ensure product development projects and undertakings stay on budget and within the projected time schedule.Allocate resources effectively including personnel, materials, and time.Control R&D and related CAPEX budgets and a growing team of 12 engineers and scientists.Create and oversee high-level KPIs for Engineering departmentDraft reports and data analysis for review by the COO. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL & EXPERIENCEKnowledge of principles of engineering and engineering design experience.Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with scrupulous attention to detail.Ability to collaborate and bridge the communications gap within engineering across ADG.Superior budgeting and cost management abilities, assessing estimated costs early in the project and bringing the actual costs in line.Able to draft clear and comprehensive reports on the statistical efficacy of products/projects, the use and allocation of resources, and the quality of each finished product.Ability to draft, review, and evaluate engineering blueprints.Must possess technical acumen and the ability to troubleshoot on a variety of products.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering plus active certification in an engineering professional organization.Extensive experience electrical engineering and mechanical systems.Must have experience leading teams of individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines.
