Position Summary:
The Upgrade Project Manager (UPM) role is a critical Leadership position within the Airbus Upgrades Business line. The UPM is responsible for planning, leading and executing all activities associated with the delivery of commercial aircraft cabin, avionics and airframe modifications of Airbus aircraft in service. The UPM works closely with major Airline Customers, maintenance facilities (MRO's) and internal Airbus engineering and supply chain experts to deliver an end to end solution for the Airline.
The UPM is a high visibility position leading in a dynamic environment interfacing directly with the end customer. A strong foundation for upward mobility within a Global Airbus Organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead proposal development, including technical scope, estimated delivery planning and ROM pricing
- Work closely with the Sales team to ensure Customer offer acceptance
- Accountable for the timely delivery of a complete, accurate retrofit solution to the Customer
- Manages a portfolio of small/medium/large projects in front of Customer from Letter Agreement signature until deal closure
- Contributes to profitability by ensuring estimation/costing/pricing envelope of the offers and respect of the contractual delivery dates
- Gives visibility to all project members/stakeholders according to the project progress
- Acts as the 'Voice of the Customer' during the aircraft modification phase to ensure overall project success
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
- Minimum 10 years experience within the aviation industry
- Demonstrated success in providing strong leadership, program and people management skills including working across international boundaries and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated business and technical acumen and the leadership skills to successfully manage and prioritize multiple competing projects simultaneously.
Education:
- BS Degree in Engineering or Business and/or equivalent work experience is required
- PMP certification is preferred
