Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Aircraft Technician B - Heavy Maintenance to join our Retrofit Maintenance department based in Columbus, MS.
This position is located in Columbus, Mississippi
You will be part of a team that performs schedule and non-scheduled maintenance on UH-72A Lakota helicopters and other airframes as required.
Conducts operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems. Diagnoses malfunctions or failures and makes adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts and / or components.

On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region.
It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your Challenges :
Performs detailed inspections, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components.
Conducts operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems.
Assures that completed work complies with FAA / Airbus regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
Follows all OSHA, safety and environmental regulations.
Completes forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
Performs troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions or failures on the following aircraft systems : aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant and engine controls.

Onsite or remote : 95%
Vision : able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing : able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking : able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors) : able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Lifting : able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 60lbs / 27kgs.
Pushing / Pulling : able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting : able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling : able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing : able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel : able to travel independently and at short notice. 5%
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents) : able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required : Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators / Masks, and / or Protective Gloves as required by site and / or customer site
