Community

Working in the Yakima Valley has its perks. You will work in area of incredible agricultural diversity. Fresh fruits and vegetables abound throughout the summer and the fall. Lately, alcohol beverage producers have been popping up everywhere bringing Agri-tourism opportunities featuring local wines, beers, ciders, and spirits. The weather is great and features 300 sunny days a year that benefit both our employees and our grapes. For the west coast, the cost of living is modest, and an employee could choose from a host of small quaint farming communities or live-in larger communities like the Tri-Cities or Yakima if large town amenities are desired.

Our Company

We have a solid management team in place at Airport Ranch Wine Estates. Our controller will work closely with our existing senior leadership team. Accurate and timely financial data are integral to making good management decisions and we look forward to adding a controller that can provide this much-needed financial insight to our operations.

Our family farm began growing wine grapes in 1968. At that time, Washington State had only three wineries and had an abysmal reputation from decades of fortified and fruit wine production. Grape production on the farm greatly expanded over the years thanks to our long-standing partnership with Chateau Ste Michelle Winery. Today we farm 1177 acres of wine grapes and juice grapes. In 2005, Mike Miller and his son Marcus launched Airfield Estates Winery with 27 barrels of red wine. Today, our cellar has 2200 barrels and we operate in 40 states and have a direct-to-consumer business The controller will be supported by two full-time bookkeepers and will oversee accounting and compliance for our winery and farming operations. If being part of a dynamic team producing world-class wines sounds compelling, we look forward to reviewing your resume.
